Hawa, a vibrant 28-year-old mother, once danced in the embrace of happiness alongside her three cherished children. Nestled in a warm haven in Singah, Sennar State, her days were a tapestry woven with love until the ominous clouds of conflict loomed. Her husband, a devoted shepherd, tenderly cared for their flock of sheep, creating a life rich with serenity. However, as chaos swept through Singah, Hawa and her beloved husband were driven to seek refuge at the Ali-Atallh IDPs’ Hosting Site in Kassala city, Kassala State, East Sudan, longing for a sanctuary to shield their trembling little ones.
Hawa, as a newly IDP, found a shelter that lacks the minimum life needs, where they had only a pan to cook in; whereas, there were no blankets to cover them when it’s cold or raining, only cartons could cover their chilly bodies.
However, Vet-Care Organization (VCO) funded by the DRA; implemented crisis Modifier interventions under the Sudan Joint Response Program-024 targeting IDPs of Sennar State at Kassala State; VCO distributed non-food-items (NFIs) to Hawa and her family (Beds, mattresses, blankets, kitchen utensils, water containers, etc). “I am glad and grateful that I have household stuff, thank you VCO and DRA” Hawa said.
